Problem Solving Strategy: Draw a picture to help visualize and solve the problem. 

Rule

To solve for an unknown number: 
Draw the four walls and write the length and width next to each wall. 
Find how much total length is available for the objects by adding:
length + width + length + width
Divide to find how many desired meters for placing objects are in the total meters available. 
Total meters available ÷ desired meters for placing objects = total number of objects

Example

The art gallery has a length of 80 meters and a width of 25 meters. The owner wants to put a painting on every 5 meters of the walls of the gallery. How many paintings does the owner need?
