Vocabulary
Proper Fraction - a fraction that is less than one, with the numerator less than denominator.
Numerator - the number above the line in a common fraction showing how many of the parts indicated by the denominator there are.
Denominator - the bottom number in a fraction that shows the number of equal parts an item is divided into. It is the divisor of a fraction.

Rules
1. Locate the starting fraction on the number line.
2. If the arrow is moving to the right, it is an addition problem. If it is going to the left, it is a subtraction problem.
3. Count how many spaces are being added or subtracted.
4. Identify which given number problem is represented by the model.
Example
Choose the correct addition or subtraction problem that is modeled below.
Solution
It starts at 38 and moves to the left two spaces (+28).
Answer: 38+28
