Rules

1. To convert from a percent to a decimal, divide the percent value by 100.
2. To convert from percent to a fraction, write the percent value over 100 and reduce the fraction.
3. To convert from a fraction to decimal, divide the denominator into the numerator.

Example

The probability of an event is 75%.

Which of the following is an equivalent way to write this probability?

$\frac{3}{4}$

$\frac{1}{4}$

$0.075$

$7.5$

Solution

75% can be written as $\frac{75}{100}$ and that reduces to $\frac{3}{4}$.
