Rules

A two-way table shows data from one sample group as it relates to two different categories. 
One category is represented by rows and the other category is represented by columns.

Use the information given in the rows and columns to interpret a two-way table.

Example

How many people were surveyed total on whether they owned a cat, dog, or both? 

Solution

To find the total either find the sum of the totals column on the right or the sum of the total row on the bottom. 

440 + 530 = 970 or 779 + 191 = 970
