9 times table shows all the results of adding 9 repetitively because adding, again and again, results in multiplication. 9 times table reveals a fun fact about it i.e if you increase the tens digit and decrease the first digit at every step you get the next multiple of 9. The number 9 is the largest single-digit composite number and a perfect square number. It is very important for students to learn the table of 9 for quick calculations.

Tips for 9 Times Table

As you can notice in the above image, the digits which are at one’s place reduce by 1 when going from top to bottom. Simultaneously, the digits in the ten’s place are just increasing by 1 from top to bottom.

Rules

When a number is multiplied by 9, the answer is nine times the number. Add the number 9 times.

You can also find the product with the help of skip counting. Skip count by 9’s like 9, 18, 27, 36 . . . and so on.

Solution

9 x 3 tells us that we have nine groups of 3. To find the answer, we will add the groups together. So, 9 x 3 turns into 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 3, which turns into 27. So, 9 x 3 is equal to 27.
